Team Plinth We Are Go!!!

Ok - so here's the news. I've been selected to go on the 4th Plinth on Trafalgar Square in London as part of Anthony Gormley's One and Other Project. I'll be on the plinth on Tuesday 6th October from 9pm to 10pm. Check out the website at http://www.oneandother.co.uk/.

So, dear friends - I need your help - and that's why I've created this blog.

What can you do? Cheer me on - pledge your support on the one and other website by pledging to watch and leaving a comment on my profile, give me some dosh for my chosen charity (more details later), suggest things for me to do/make/wear/shout out/throw while I'm up there, come and heckle me , give me a packed lunch to eat on the train - or simply just watch and laugh :) I'm open (read as desperate) to suggestions in all areas.

Please keep an eye on this blog over the next month or so until the big event - and leave comments on my musings as they appear. Without you my friends, I am nothing! And I am seriously calling on your help - to make this latest act of stupidity on my part - worthwhile :)

  1. I suggest you be naked and knit something warm to wear.

You can shout out "TONE I LOVE YOU"

I will be there to warm you up properly afterwards anyway ;) heh

These are just thoughts to get the ball rolling and to see how many people shoot me down in flames as being a perv LOL

  2. Brilliant! People took offence to someone standing naked on the plinth so I don't think nude knitting is a go.

I'd guess just knitting whilst wearing your most amazing and odd knit-pieces (including, of course, a beard) is all good.

    Hi Lisa
Thanks for your message. Good to hear what you're up to.
The Craft Circle that I run at the Turnpike was recently involved with a Fourth Plinth knitting project. It was organised by a lady called Anne Makepeace who lives in Newcastle. Here is the link to her hour on the plinth:

We made knitted and crocheted flowers that were stitched onto the blanket you can see on the plinth. Knitters from all over the country were invited to send in flowers. All the flowers will be made into corsages and sold to raise money for charity.
Let us know what you decide to do in the end!
    Best wishes,
    Louise
